“America’s Favorite Cookie” is 100 years old! That’s right, the Oreo cookie has a 100th birthday to celebrate. In honor of celebrating a century of deliciousness Nabisco has created a limited edition Birthday Cake Oreo. The cookie has a birthday cake flavored creme, complete with sprinkles, in between the classic chocolate wafers. I will send a “Happy Birthday” to Oreos whenever I find and buy the Birthday Cake cookie. I am not a regular Oreo cookie eater, but for some reason I am very intrigued to taste this flavor.

In other food news, Chobani Greek Yogurt announced the other day on Twitter that they are going to be a sponsor of the US team for the Summer 2012 Olympics. This is from the post on Chobani’s official website about the news:
When we think of the spirit of the Olympic Games, a few things come to mind: Passion. Devotion. Performance. Teamwork. Price.
Our company was built on just these things. We’re devoted to crafting the most delicious, high-quality yogurt. It’s this passion that’s gotten us to where we are today. That’s why sponsoring the Team USA was so important to us.

Greek yogurt is a very healthy food item, so it is appropriate to have this product represent the US Olympic Team. This sponsorship will most certain gain Chobani a lot of publicity and spread the word about their yogurt. Chobani is my favorite brand of Greek yogurt, and their yogurt is delicious and is a quality product. I am happy to see a food and brand I support play as a major sponsor for the US Olympic Team.
